Magic

If you are a unicorn or an alicorn, you have Magic Points (MP). Your MP total is equal to your Mind score.
Each magic spell costs MP. Every turn, you regain one MP. If your MP reaches zero, you must wait a number of turns equal to 10 minus your Mind score to begin regaining MP again. For example, a unicorn with a Mind score of 6 who allows their MP to reach zero has to wait 4 turns before beginning to regain MP at the normal rate of 1 MP per turn.
If you want to cast a spell, you must first make a Mind roll. The number to meet or beat is equal to the total amount of MP the spell costs. For example, a unicorn who wants to cast Large Object Telekinesis must make a Mind roll with 3 or more successes. If they don’t, their MP still decreases by 3 and the spell fizzles.

Spells:

  • Small Object Telekinesis (0 MP): You may move an object that is as big as your head or smaller. You may cast this on multiple objects but each additional object takes 1 more MP. You may move them a total number of spaces equal to your Mind score. If you want to continually cast it, you simply need to spend the same amount of MP for multiple turns, but you do not need to reroll your initial Mind roll. Continually casting this spell counts as casting another spell, and uses up your action for the turn.
  • Large Object Telekinesis (3 MP): You may move an object that is as big as you or smaller. You may cast this on multiple objects, but each additional object takes 3 more MP. You may move them a total number of spaces equal to your Mind score. If you want to continually cast it, you simply need to spend the same amount of MP for multiple turns, but you do not need to reroll your initial Mind roll. Continually casting this spell counts as casting another spell, and uses up your action for the turn.
  • Very Large Object Telekinesis (6 MP): You may move an object that weighs as much as five ponies. You may move it a total number of spaces equal to your Mind score.
  • Local Teleportation (3 MP): You may teleport yourself, somepony else, or any other pony-sized object to a location anywhere within a total number of spaces equal to double your Mind score. You may cast this on multiple targets at once, but each additional target takes 3 more MP. If you attempt to teleport somepony who doesn’t want to be teleported, you have to beat them in an opposed Mind roll. If they win, they remain where they are and you still lose 3 MP. If you use this spell merely to reorient the object (turning something upside-down or right-side-up, for example), it only costs 1 MP per object.
  • Far Teleportation (6 MP): You may teleport yourself, somepony else, or any other pony-sized object to any location you know well. If you attempt to teleport somepony who doesn’t want to be teleported, you have to beat them by two in an opposed Mind roll. If they win, they remain where they are and you still lose 6 MP.
  • Gossamer Wings (6 MP): You cause another earth pony or unicorn to sprout gossamer wings, turning them into a gossamer pegasus. These wings last three days, or until they are destroyed. They are much more delicate than natural wings, gossamer or otherwise, and can easily be torn or burned.
  • Magic Ray (2 MP): You shoot a ray from your horn. You make a magic attack by rolling your Mind. Your opponent rolls their Mind to negate damage.
  • Light (1 MP): Your horn emits a bright light, allowing you to see in darkness.
  • Dazzling Light (3 MP): Your horn emits a dazzling flash of light that illuminates the entire area. Roll your Mind. Any creature within a 10-space radius must meet or beat your Mind roll to avoid being blinded. If blinded, they suffer a -1 die penalty to all rolls that require sight.
  • Spark (0 MP): You create a small spark from your horn that can ignite a well-prepared fire.
  • Harmony Spark (4 MP): You create the spark that activates the Elements of Harmony. This spell can only be used if you have the Asset “Magical” and are wearing the Element of Magic.
  • Spell on the Fly: If you come up with a spell that isn’t here, run it by the GM. If they like it, they may add it to the list.
